It’s called the Lamb and is a decent pub. Three real ales and three ciders. A free house.

The Olde England was another of the pubs I'd found closed on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't much livelier on a Sunday evening, with 2 other customers who soon disappeared. However, I thought this place had a real charm. There are 2 bars which are dimly lit and have plenty of character. Ales on were Robinsons Trooper, Dizzy Blonde, Unicorn & Wizard & Facers Landslide. In addition, there were 3 ciders - Westons Old Rosie & Wyld Wood & Abrahalls Nell Gwynne. I had the Nell Gwynne, which was a new one for me. A loyalty card was advertised, where you could buy 9 pints and get your 10th free. Unfortunately, I wasn't having that much of a session. Well worth a visit.

Stumbled upon this pub looking for Turks Head. It had a sign outside which said 'real ales' - I fully expected to find Bombardier or GK IPA on offer (yawn) but no 7 real ales with one brewed on the premises. When next in SH will be back and recommend it.

Found this place in Merseyale CAMRAS magazine and glad I did. Amazing little place they even brew their own beer on the premises. Unspoilt by time it retains it's character with a seperate bar and lounge, and small walled beer garden Great choice gave up counting after 20 draught products No children allowed but thats suits me a grown ups proper boozer like it should be. They are on face book if you want to see latest deals. A pint of real ale was £1.50 when I called in and it will become a regular spot of mine when I visit from Liverpool

Cracking find! Never been in this pub before (formally the lamb) as outside doesnt look so appealing just a terraced brickwork off the street but WOW once inside its liking going into a different world. Really quaint and some lovely features and touches (real fire, piano, seperate bar and lounge) Think the staff said they do 25 draught beers and real ales and ciders, Amazing prices too on beer and food cheaper than weatherspoons. Their own real ale was just 1.59 a pint. A place for couples or friends but they dont allow children (which is fine with me as its a cozy small place) If you havent tried it do give it a go, I will be back for sure in fact going tomorrow

This pub is relatively new to me as I only found out about it a few months ago but it is now my favourite pub. The staff are very friendly and when I go in with my friends we have a real laugh with the staff. There are lots of different real ales, I like the Jaipur but am also fond of the flavoured beers like the ginger beer and also the stouts when they are on. I am fond of a whisky for my last drink and they have quite a few malts to chose from. They also have flavoured vodkas and as realalelover2 points out fruit wines.

Olde England thanks for the heads up Carlurmston as I didnt know this pub existed as its on the other side of the towncentre to where we normally shop .This is a great little place over looked from the outside with its terrace front on the main road but once you step in you will be sure of a warm welcome and a decent pint the real ale very well kept and now up to 3 pumps and at 2 a pint good value The Mrs found some fruit wines on sale and some strange wines too nettle and dandelion? It was like stepping back in time a most enjoyable experience we will be back again

Recently reopened town-centre pub that has recently changed name from The Lamb (a name which still adorns the etched windows, and which I prefer, the new one seeming slightly contrived).
It has just converted to real ale which has brought it to the attention of CAMRA and it is advertised in the latest Merseyale.
It's reasonably traditional, with a games room and largish lounge both served by a central bar.
The furnishings are traditional and the interior is decorated in agreeable pub-green and cream. As noted above it retains etched windows, Both room are large and opened out, but the atmosphere is generally traditional. The games room features a pool table. Food is served in the daytime.
Real ales served have been from local microbreweries such as George Wright, although on my visit the solitary handpump was dispensing Robinsons Unicorn- unexciting but well-kept. These are served in traditional pint pots- always a plus in my book. Piped music is played, and the emphasis seems to be on rock rather than dance- thankfully.
I quite enjoyed it here and its good to see a new convert in the real ale desert that is St Helens-hopefully it can get a few more beers on in the future.
