Excellent pub, full of charachter, great staff behind the bar, very welcoming. Regular ales such as Doom Bar, plus a couple of guests, all well looked after. Has sky sports and did Thai food. Not cheap though at £4 a pint, going rate for the area, but still worth knowing in advance!

Tried this pub on the offchance before attending Buddy Guy's gig at Shepherds Bush. Pleasantly surprised by the orientally themed courtyard garden and the availability of Doom Bar. Pub was so inviting that we missed the support act and only just caught the start of Guy's set.

Now makes an effort to feature guest ales: Wychwood Hobgoblin or Hop Back Summer Lightning. But even if those are not available, the London Pride is always in perfect nick!

Real ale OK but 74p more expensive compared to the beaconsfield for a same strength beer and not the range of the havelock

Moved to the area a few months ago and after an extensive search and many a tasting session in the pubs of the area later, I have decided that The Old Parrs Head is the place for me. Great little pub and the only one in the area that trys not to be anymore then what it is, a nice clean, friendly pub with friendly outgoing staff that serves I have to say some of the best lager I have had in a pub for a long long time. The San Miguel, Carling and Stella is top quality and the wine list even if it is a bit Limited, complements the Thai food perfectly. Never been a big fan of real ales but again the London Pride is a great tipple and every week there is a different guest ale for me to try so Im slowly but surely been converted. Shame that the beer garden has been closed recently but judging from the lovely spring flowers that they recently added to there window boxes and from listening to the locals the Thai themed beer garden and the seats outside the front is the place to be for the summer, and I cant wait. All in all its quite refreshing to see a pub in London that sticks to the principles of what a great local should be....

OK pub- disappointingly only one real ale on (London Pride) when we went but a decent array of continental lagers. Not sure it knows what its market is...but nice to see some games available to play eg Scrabble...not worth a detour but acceptable enough...

I popped in for a cheeky beer at lunchtime and it was a) relaxed, b) friendly and c) 'safe'. Having visited the Fox and Hounds (43 Blythe Rd, W14 0HR) en route I got a heady rush of happiness at this place. Food looked good (I didnt sample) and the staff and general atmosphere was pleasant and worthy of a return visit.

as i am not a local, i walk a long way to come here because the carling is good, the staff are excellent and trying to pick something wrong with the manager is harder to pick than a broken nose! she is wonderful. compared to havelock this is 200%. topped off by a great location and superb food.

Not too bad, but the emphasis is on the Thai menu and wine list rather than beer here. The only real ale on this time was London Pride, but have previously enjoyed the Hoegaarden siting outside in the sunshine.

An excellent pub which manages to be both smart enough to attract the well-heeled locals it needs to survive in this area, yet still has some good more traditional beer (Bass, London Pride) to attract the rest of us. The wine they have is decent and reasonably priced. The thai food is excellent (fresh ingredients) and very cheap (4-6 for a main). All in all, very hard to fault.

This is a really good pub. The interior is a bit dry but has a nice Thai themed beer garden at the back. Staff are friendly and the Thai food is delicious. Cheap eat!

A shame if it's been 'turned' because by the time I left the area in early 2005 this, along with the Cumberland Arms, was my favourite pub in the area. Maybe Dave is right and it was time to go ....

Just had the worst pint of San Migel ever, here. Clean the pipes...

Rather bland Pub, but with very good Thai food.
(although I did once have a fish dish that smelt of the giraffe house at London Zoo)

what an improvement. good job.

I hope I'm not jumping to conclusions here, but it looks like the last nice pub in the area is being turned into a Bird In Hand-style abomination - the Bird In Hand having been a brilliant, old-fashioned boozer filled with people from all walks of life which has now turned into the blandest 'all bar one'-type place possible, full of identikit Soho types. Please, can't you just stay in Revolution, and leave our local pubs alone. If the Old Parrs Head is in for a similar treatment, it really is time to leave the area.

Quiet traditional local pub offering great Thai food, tucked away in a quiet back street near Brook Green. London Pride and Bass.
