A great "locals" pub. Always a good selection of different well kept beers.
Seek it out.

The Eagle is the favourite pub in all of Hampshire for little devils! We love the place, Alan and Kate are great - friendly, welcoming and really passionate about their beers and making the pub a perfect place to be. We can't wait to come back - last year's Beer Festival was fantastic - as far as I can remember....

The pub is a bit untidy but don't let that put you off. The landlord was pleasant and the beer is top drawer - in fact, if the selection on my visit is typical, then certainly one of the best in the area. Re the food, perhaps best described as basic - I'll leave it that. But, if it is a nice pint you want then you can't go wrong.

Excellent Sunday roast, reasonable prices. 4 excellent real ales to choose from, as usual. A "proper" village pub. Under the previous landlord, this pub was awful & generally empty. Now, it's advisable to book if you want a meal - I'd guess that tells it all.

Awesome village pub! Food was so cheap but best I've had in yrs! Fresh/homemade, even the chips were 2 die 4! Love the locals, had way 2 much fun! So welcoming! Even the dog got spoiled! Best brew I've had in yrs! Absolutely love this pub for for the location, owners, food, customers and dog friendliness! Can't wait t go back! xx

I find the wolvesfan comment interesting as there was a larger choice of real available than normal, and t'was at a reduced price as well. Somtimes first impressions may be incorrect.

The 3rd annual beer festival at the Eagle was held over the 11th, 12th and 13th of June with 18 real ales and two ciders available from the skittle alley. The was no real ale on tap on the 14th in the main pub building as we were selling the remainder of the beer from the festival in the skittle alley still.
God knows what the reviewer below is on, there were at least 8 beers left to try on Monday and believe me we were trying to encourage customers to go over and try some!
The rest of the review just sounds malicious.

Not quite sure what the last post is about. I visited today and all I can say is.....'What a Dump'!!! No real ale, the place is extremely dirty, mirrors haven't been cleaned in what looks like months, maybe even years and the place has a very strange smell. Located in a very large, pretty village. But somehow it manages to let the village down. Avoid.

This pub changed hands almost 20 months ago, and since then it has become one of the most sought out village pubs in the area for Real Ale. Staff are really friendly and Alan and Kate the landlords have almost single handedly brought the village back to life. Beer is always good and we attended the beer festival in June and was impressed by the range of Real Ales on offer. There are 4 Real Ales on at any time with Betty Stoggs being the permanent one. Food is available on all days apart from Tuesday and Sunday Evenings. Sunday Roast thoroughly recommended at a bargain price and they currently have a good range of Tapas food available as well as curry's and other traditional pub favourites. Worth a detour just off the A303, recommended.

This pub is CAMRA North Hants branch Pub Of The Year 2010. Ciders are back on, although sometimes they do run out.

Popped in just before Christmas... 4 well kept real-ales, real friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff.

This was the first of 10 pubs we tried in this area on the weekend before last. The pub is a nice country pub in a pretty village where there seemed to be more horses than cars. Most of the clientele were locals, who seemed to prefer congregating around the bar. Four beers were available - Betty Stoggs, Triple fff Alton's Pride, Milestone Black Pearl and Newmans Spring Cottage. Unfortunately the real ciders appear to have gone. Only Thatcher's Dry from a keg is available. Nich enough pub, without being over friendly.

This superb pub now has 4 draught ciders from the Weston range. These are, at present, Vintage Organic, Old Rosie, Bounds Scrumpy and 1st Quality. Had a sandwich there yesterday, the biggest one I've ever had! Good traditional pub food at lunchtime and a more adventurous one in the evening.

A few years ago this pub was a real dive, but on my recent visit I got a very pleasant surprise indeed. The current landlord keeps four excellent beers in tip-top condition. The Betty Stoggs was particularly good. It's a real pleasure to see a village pub in the ascendent after a period of decline, and I would take great pleasure in coming back here next time I'm in the area. As SamRich says below, well worth getting off the A303 to find.

A nice homely pub with real people & superbly kept real ales.
Well worth deviating off the A303 for.

What a find! Popped in here at the weekend whilst visitng relatives in the area to find 2 Dark Star beers alongside Betty Stoggs (permenant) and one other.
Two chatty landlords behind the bar, seem to be doing a great job having only been there less than 18 months. Beer on good form, not sure as to whether food in the offing. We will be back!!

The only pub in the area with a regularly changing selections of real ale. One permanent beer and three guests - new landlords have had over 40 different beers in less than four months an oasis for a real ale fan and no national brands
