please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

There is a member of staff here - her with the Croydon facelift and bad attitude who is the most miserable specimen which it has been my misfortune to have encountered working behind a bar - utter rudeness and complete indifference - your punters who you treat with contempt dear don`t ask a lot however a "Thank you" will suffice. I totally agree with nicktrow, this young lady drags down the decent staff - "appalling" / "rude" / "ignorant" is just about right

Some of the staff are appalling and are unfortunatly dragging down the few decent staff they do have.

Rude ignorant staff. No beer. Even the Guinness tasted if it still full of line cleaner. AVOID

Great place for watching sport. 3 massive screens on each floor (and loads of smaller ones). Manager was very helpful in finding a more obscure match for us.

Went here 2 weeks ago after we had to wait an hour for a film at Odeon to start. Got ID'd by someone 10 years my junior. Go out regularly and have not been ID'd in years! They missed out on our trade that night and they won't be getting it again any time soon because we rarely take ID out with us on a weeknight.

On the times we have been in before, the pub is particularly devoid of character during the week and feels cold, old and the atmosphere would make a graveyard look lively.

In contrast it is very lively at the weekend, normally full of Antipodeans. Male clientel in there is generally quite rude but given their discount drink prices I suppose if you've been in there on the piss all day you might lose your manners

This place isn't too bad to drink and the bar is big so you can quite easily get served. However it appears to be one of those places that attracts a certain type of drinker so might be an idea to avoid on fri/sat evening unless that's your thing.

Having said that food isn't anything to write home about, even when they are running a 50% off deal. Better to go to the chippy next door!

I went to this bar for the first time last week and found it to be a very plesent, the staff were very helpfull and the service was exclelent. i ordered some food after looking at the menu which made my mouth water! I must say the fish pie was lovely. you can tell the manager runs a tight ship! The standards are very high, in the service I recived and the way the food was presented. I recomended this lovely bar to any one. I then went back to the bar on sunday and ordered sunday lunch which was very well made, I must say this is a lovely bar for a Lady on her own like myself for lunch or a family who wants a good meal. well done to the wonderfull team for making my week. thank you and well done.
