A truly great pub. The beer is always first class and the top bar friendly and welcoming. The landlady's curries come highly recommended. Not to be missed if you like a proper pub in beautiful surroundings.

Great as it ever was, lovely drink outside on a summers day so relaxing too. Not very busy on visit in question so I do hope people are supporting this fine pub.

Excellent pub, good robust pub food, nice selection of real-ales, cider and wine, very attractive surroundings - very cosy in the winter and friendly staff - well worth a visit and its only a short walk from the Abbey.

The Cherry tree in Tintern has reopened and what a great pub it is, with a selection of real ales including guests. The multi-level inn is well worth a visit and the food is top notch.

Oh dear! A GBG stalwart since it's launch in the 1970's and one of the best pubs around has sadly now had to close it's doors for good mainly due to council red tape and propaganda. Mainly due to not being allowed to have their small "A Frame" sign on the main Tintern road advertising it's wherabouts, in fact after talking to ex-landlord Steve yesterday he even received a suspended 6 month prison sentance due to keeping the sign on the main road!

A very, very sad day indeed especially for the regulars however Steve has relocated 1/2 a mile away in The Anchor next to Tintern Abbey so at least that is of some comfort. The Post Office/shop also is sadly to close at the end of this month. It's enough to make you cry especially knowing that 4 pubs a week are now closing you would have thought that the local council would have protected this institution so shame on them!

A Pub thats really at the hub of this community. It owns the village shop and post office on the ground floor with the pub above it. All in the lovely picturesque village of Tintern. 4 Hand pumped ales were available and a real cider on draught. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The friend we met there is disabled and also owns a dog. She uses a disabled scooter and was able to use it down to the tables in front of the shop. I am sure that those tables are for the shop rather than the pub. We never had a problem whilst we were there anyway. The pub is also dog friendly as they provided water for the dog in a bowl when asked.
There is also an outside covered drinking and dining area. I understand they offer a good menu of home cooked food.
This is the only pub in the whole of wales that has been in every issue of the GBG (35 years).
