Charming country pub and the best of the three in the village. The ale selection is good as you'd expect from a freehouse, and I can also attest to the food being exceedingly good, having previously worked in Chalgrove. Despite being located opposite the very different beast that is The Crown, a twee air is exuded, exemplified by the family of ducks pottering around the edge of the pub's front garden.

Certainly one of the best pubs in Oxfordshire.
Always a changing feast of real ales, proper ciders and perfectly kept Guinness. The food is amazingly good. I understand the proprietor is a really highly qualified chef.
Huge garden for the summer. Huge fire for the winter. It's always busy - the locals are blessed to have this as their local.

Stopped here for lunch on 15/05/2010, absolute gem of a pub! Food was excellent and the Timothy Taylor Landlord was in superb condition along with the 3 other ales they had on! staff and landlady very friendly and prices were good for this area of Oxfordshire. The pub has a lovely garden to the front and a huge garden to the rear and it is child friendly. To me this pub looked like a real hub of the local community and long may it stay that way. 10/10 for me!

Superb food, great guest ales always on, cosy old little pub, with larger restaurant area out back, great garden for summertime drinks with kids at rear, and picturesque beer garden out front. Staff very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Lovely warm real pub atmosphere with open fire to keep you snug in winter. Food exceptional, can't recommend enough.

I'm a bit late posting this, but had St V night here, and it was staggeringly good, Raymond food & Suzanne puds super. The beers are kept very well with guest ales alway good to try, wine list is also very good, try 'GoatOnTheRoam' thats what I call it, I'll let you work out which one it is, very nice in deed.
Great atmosphere at anytime, what more can be said, Most Highly recommended, probably the best food pub in the area! even the water comes from Blenheim Palace...........

Superb village local. Since being taken over by Raymond & Suzanne, the pub has gone from strength to strength - great atmosphere, a wide range of well kept beers, an excellent wine list, and absolutely excellent food! In summer, the garden is a great place to chill; in winter, the log fires make it cosy. Highly recommended!

New people really have worked at it! the best food pub in the area now............ always busy with lively people young and old.......... and you can't beat the setting, front garden and very large rear garden, sitting out side is as good as it comes, given the rain we've had..........
