Visited here on a Thursday lunchtime, taken in by the large beer garden with plenty of tables. As soon as I walked up to the door the barmaid was on her way out to collect some glasses from the tables, she said a friendly hello and asked how I was. She allowed me a minute or so to make my selection before she returned and took my order, remaining friendly throughout. She even asked what type of glass I would prefer (handled tankard or straight glass).

I went for a pint of Greene King IPA Gold at 4.1% which set me back £3.40 for the pint. A bit on the expensive side but not too extortionate.

Despite being near the main road, the beer garden felt nice and peaceful, especially with the river being so close.

It was pretty quiet on my visit, but perhaps that was due to the time of day. there was an older couple inside just finishing a meal, and a small group on one of the tables outside.

The inside of the pub is split into two fairly narrow rooms with a central bar - making the inside space feel smaller than you would expect when looking at the size of the building from outside. However on a nice day with the size of the beer garden, I don't imagine this would be a problem. Decent size car park as others have noted.

They had a couple of other ales on the hand pumps, certainly enough choice for a passing visit. All in all, I would recommend calling by on a nice day.

We decided to visit the Bridge Inn on a Sunday at lunchtime, as we know it is now under new management. We also know, from personal experience, that the new owner is very good at delivering an excellent level of customer service. Our first impression was that it was a very cosy, traditional country pub. We were warmly welcomed by the pub’s lovely staff.

Just a few minutes after we arrived, an attentive member of staff asked us if we were ready to order. We ordered the Roast Beef with vegetables, which was served within 5-10 minutes from ordering. The food was delicious: the roast beef serving was quite generous and very good, the carrots and cauliflowers were cooked to perfection, and we also enjoyed the roasted potatoes and parsnip.

All in all, it was a delightful experience and we would definitely visit the Bridge Inn again.

Riverside pub, ( a proper pub, not a gastro pseudopub) a big car park: two cosy rooms off the main door: a blazing log fire: dogs welcome in the public bar. Customers were a mixture of car tourists, grubby workmen, hikers and locals. We called as usual for lunch during a hike. Sandwiches were cheap and adequate at £3 to £4 but not of highest standard as the bread cob was a bit rubbery. Salad was included and was good. The extra chips were undercooked and not particularly plentiful. Abbot Ale was extortionate at £3.60 per pint. I grumbled about the cost and was told that price depended on alcohol content - in which case, tea and coke should be free then. Despite all this our stay was pleasant enough.I probably would go again.

Must say that I enjoyed this pub, despite the previous comments on here, but then again I am over 40! Most importantly the beer was extremely well kept; when I was there it was Abbeydale, Hardy Hansons and one more (might have been Landlord but after a few of the Abbeydale I didn't need to try any more).
Food was good too - a fish pie that had lots of fish and not so much potato to "bulk" it out. Landlord was friendly and welcoming so I would definitely come back again.

The Bridge was an interesting experience. The Landlord was openly hostile to anyone under 40 in the pub, he seemed to go out of his way to make them feel unwelcome. The pub is supposed to be a family pub, but has a huge picture on the wall of an animal with a massive erect penis. Wont be taking my child there then.

The prices behind the bar are rigged - if you order 3 of a drink, stella for example, they have the prices for multiples printed on the pumps, but have added a pound here and there into the total, overcharging for already fairly high-priced drinks.

The Landlord recently put up a sign on the bar door which says F.I.F.O, which a friend who works there informed me, means Fit In or F'#@ Off. Plainly aimed at young people. I am never, ever, ever going into that pub again, the rating of zero out of 10 is well deserved.

The decor is a bit artificial, yes, but the beer was well kept. Definitely worth a visit for drink.

Food is the usual pub-grub type, nothing fancy.

A nice big beer garden, by the river, but also by a main road.

Plenty of parking.

Yes it's a great little pub with good beer and a warm atmosphere. I was intrigued by the exposed stonework which turns out to be made of plastic! Does not really matter though as pros far outweigh the cons.

Dropped in on the strength of the comments while on a job in Derbyshire. Superb beer and food and much amusing banter from locals in the 'public'!

What an amazing little pub, picturesque location too! But venture in and be amazed by all the copper & brass memorabilia all around the place! Momentos of bygone eras. But hopefully the beer won't be that old! Nice part of the world. Will re-visit the 'Bridge' when next in those parts. TJ

Wonderful friendly Kimberly pub, ideal for the summer. Beer superb, food is definitely not chain pub stuff. A real pub with a local feel as well. Hope Greene King takeover doesn't muck mit up.
