Believe this pub is just located off Scarfell Pike. They were certainly doing plenty of food here at the time, a nice location.

Very pleasant pub/restaurant. A good selection of beers and food was extremely pleasant. Very good service. When we visited it was always busy - so is obviously popular.

A lovely pub in a wonderful setting. Friendly, professional staff and an excellent choice of real beer that they take obvious pride in serving in excellent condition. Great place to eat as well.

We came across The Bridge Inn following a recommendation in a guest book at the holiday venue we were staying at...Wow, glad we did, as we spent 5 out of the following 7 evening meals at this lovely, friendly pub..The staff were amazingly friendly and then we come onto the food, where do you begin - a great menu to choose from and then when the food turns up it looks and tasted wonderful!!! My favourites had to be the Lamb Jennings - a shoulder cut of lamb that just melted off the bone :-) plus my father loved their great chips..
Cant recommend this pub highly enough to people visiting the Lake District and staying in the Holmrook area.
Didn't actually stay in the hotel part but would presume that this is also excellent

A wonderful pub with first class food (the lamb Jennings was superb) and excellent beer, if a tad expensive (2.90 for the guest ale) but well worth it. Beautiful location next to a river and a handy campsite round the corner. Staff were attentive and helpful even when the place was packed.

Excellent cosy country pub. Nice ales. The food is pretty good. The lamb (sourced very locally) is superb
You're lucky if you can get a booth in the cosy main room nest to the fire.
Restaurant area not as nice. Dog friendly
Helpful staff, and friendly locals. Decent little campsite right next door

Friendly staff, food was ok, real chips, the cumberland ale was rubbish.

In truth I booked in here because I couldnt book closer into Wasdale and Santon Bridge suffers slightly from not offering a sense of proximity to the great central hills only 10 miles away. But arriving late on a Friday in midsummer, it was possible to eat before the pub stopped serving food (9pm Fri/Sat) and walk up the nearby Irton Pike (only 230 m) for a view into the head of Wasdale in the gloaming.
The bar area is delightful. Its quite large but partly divided up into stalls and by shelves. Theres a fire tucked into a corner (happily lit on a cold June evening). The bar itself is curved and made like the hull of a clinker boat and the carpet gives way to floorboards nearby. There were five Jennings beers on my visit and, oddly, Tribute. The Sneck Lifter was particularly good. Food was good (excellent chips!) and good value for the Lake District. As a pub it is first rank and well worth visiting.
As a hotel it is a little basic with some rooms in need of redecoration (which is ongoing). The slight feeling of a youth hostel is increased by lots of notices. Because breakfast isnt cooked to order it is worth arriving at the start. But the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Santon Bridge Inn - atmosphere is relaxed.

The food is first class. The lamb shank and vegetables I ordered were excellent and from the attentive service experienced it is clear they are very proud of their food. Keep up the good work !

Slate floors?? No - it's creaking floorboards! But yes - it's a really nice place, good food, good beer- lots of choice (Jennings), several awards. Lovely views outside - next to river and close to Gable, Sca Fell etc.

excellent pub - cosy but spacious. Relaxing. Serves good range of Jennings beers with tasty local food. Rich gravy - yum yum!! Biggest Liar in the world contest is held here each November.

Good service, food is superb - organic steaks and meats from the highly regarded organic farm 100 yards up the valley, together with some of the best home made chips you'll find. Slate floor and attractive bar layout, nice mix of locals and visitors makes it feel very welcoming.

While it's off the beaten track, it's easy to see why this pub is so popular. You'll find a variety of well kept Jennings beers on tap, friendly staff, cosy surroundings and a wide range tasty food from ploughmans to Chicken Fajita's to sustain you. It's popular with walkers, families, campers, in fact everyone so it can get busy, but there are three separate eating areas. There's accomodation too, as well as the 'Post Office' campsite next door where you can pitch a tent in the picturesque countryside. Certainly worth a trip if you're in the West Lake District area.
