Karen Merritt the general manager was dismissed / resigned on 16/6/2012
Due to declining sales and stock loss
Currently being held by the assistant manager and a new manager is to be appointed in august.
she will not be missed by many of the locals after watching it turn into a student dive
Just hope they get the old place back to the great pub it used to be

Well since this pub has been under new management it has certainly turned around! I am regally in here Wednesday / Friday and Saturday nights and I can say I have never seen a chav within 100 yards.
Great new dj, s on Friday and Saturday nights and 4 big screens and 10 plasmas to watch the footie on.
And I have never seen any hint of trouble!
The dance floor is always packed! On a Saturday and they have some of the best drinks offers around.
So Eddie you may just want to stay at spoons and have a nice pint of smiths before you afternoon nap.
