The George Hotel, Castleton

Visited Castleton over Bank Holiday 30th April to 4th May 09.
We stayed on a local farm campsite and spent hours walking the beautiful countryside.We stopped at The George for a pint and some food and we were really happy with the quality of service and the grub...I had Rabbit Pie and the girlfriend had steak...it was ..lovely.Coming from Darrrrrrrn Saaaarrrf we were really impressed at the value for money ...and the excellent friendly service and quality food..so much so we went back the next day for more after 6 hours of hard walking.....We were told all the local pubs were of a similar standard..we didn't have a chance to check em all out but can only compare to many we visit at home....and The George is excellent.
