This is not really a pub - they actively discourage drinkers - and the food quality is inconsistent. Some friends had 'the best ever fish & chips' but our food was not up to standard - maybe a lack of finesse and/or experience in the kitchen. We were also rushed through to the extent that two attempts were made to clear the table before we had finished eating.
One of the bar staff appeared unable to smile and another was full of slightly arrogant joviality.
Overall, looks nice when you walk in, but room for improvement in all departments.

The Beehive, Horringer
In May, 2010 this former pub changed again, after 25 years under one management, now on its 3rd change within a year, this time as 'Thai Oriental food'. We ate there last night and no, it's not Thai food as we know it. It is an attempt at Thai food, with Chinese influence, and they miss the mark by a good distance. Heavy use of sugar and very little chilli. Menu is double sided A4 paper and you order by number. Cheap cutlery and cheaper paper napkins. Piped music, slightly jazzy. Inept service - food was served and cleared from a tray & I was often called 'darlin'. And the best bit? The bill was folded over and on checking ... Oh dear, an extra drink (3.15) had been added. Average main course price 7.85. 175ml wine 3.40. Pint of Morlands 3.15.
All in all, a pretty poor show
