The Prince Of Wales, Iffley

It has been over a year since my previous review, and I have to say that there has been a considerable increase in the amount of clientele, more importantly this increase has been maintained and constantly growing.
No mean feat in our current economic climate and rapid pub closures.
Without doubt, this is due to the Herculean efforts of the landlady Lona and the brilliant support of her fantastic staff at all levels and positions.
Another factor of the success could be, as one delighted female customer informed Lona and a couple of regulars, "is down to the type of clientele you've cultivated".
The Prince continues to organise regular charity FUNdraising events, this coming week for instance, Children in Need, as well as the regular nominated charities.
Looking forward to seeing a few regular faces down there, and new faces becoming regular faces!!

The Prince Of Wales, Iffley

If you only visit 1 pub in Oxford make sure it's The Prince.
I've been using this pub since 1973 on and off, and I have to say that at the present time this is the best it has ever been. All the credit must go to Lona the landlady[who does a 30hr day!] and her current team.
Mother and toddler groups Friday mornings, mature persons menu on Thursdays, cribbage/Aunt Sally Wednesday evenings plus darts league.
As of 18th Jan 2010 you will even be able to order your favourite newspaper and collect it from the Prince! The pub is always busy but the staff will be able to accomodate requests orders for the excellent, well priced, high quality food, even limited take-aways are available!
I cannot praise The Prince and its staff high enough, young and old, rich or poor, single or otherwise, male or female, every-one is made very welcome by all the staff and the freindliest customers you could wish to meet.
I value The Prince so highly that I pass upto 6 watering holes on a 3 mile walk, just to get there!
