The Lantern Pike Inn, Little Hayfield

A real pub ! Great Food, Great beer, but the welcome is sensational. Arrange a group meal - let them know you are coming and you won't be disappointed.
The pub where the original characters and ideas for coronation street where created - but not a city pub - out in the sticks with great location.

The Harrington Arms, Gawsworth

Refreshingly UN Modern. One thing I don't like about Pubs is waiting to be served - BUT here you don't mind! If you arrive in a car with three friends you are more than likely to swamp the regular(s) who are happy to see you - the barman has to get off the bench and go behind the bar to serve you leaving you to talk to his regular. The Cash till is circa 19th century! A thwrowback of charm!
