I have to agree with one of the posts below. The landlady seemed really off with me and my wife when we stopped off with friends on our way home to Luton. There was a bit of an atmosphere but having said that some friends have said she's a nice lady so perhaps she just gets a bit stressed out. food wise was okay but nothing special after what we had heard.

have had lunch here a few times and have to say was delicious though the portions were just too much but the carvery was a different story, staff running round like headless chickens, not enough cutlery etc. we had booked a table and then someone else was sat there, Not sure what to make of the manager, he seems to have a rather dry sense of humour and be reasonably friendly but he always seems to be slagging someone off or moaning and the problem with that in a village is that people catch on to that pretty quickly.
Also was in there a couple of weeks ago and he had a good crowd in there but sat on sofa and was telling people they were closed at 11.05pm!!!! so last orders at 11 then close five minutes later, you have to have a reasonable amount of drinking up time surely?? On a more positive note they have some hot barmaids with curves you could eat your dinner off.
