The Beach, Exmouth

Good, friendly, traditional locals pub - the kind which is unfortunately disappearing from our towns at an all too quick rate.

Only criticism is that the real ales are consistantly far too warm - perhaps the cellar cooling doesn't work as the lager, chilled in a different way, is fine.

Great atmosphere and wonderful sunday lunch.

The Grove, Exmouth

Good atmosphere, great beer and friendly bar staff.

Avoid for their roast sunday lunch, you will find better in a motorway service station.
The potatoes are more deep fried than roasted - inevitably uncooked in the middle whereas the other vegetables are overcooked and soggy. The beef is rubbery and fatty, almost inedible. Thankfully though the portions are best described as minimalist.

If you are looking for food stick to a sandwich or perhaps a steak, anything not too difficult to get wrong, perhaps it's better to eat there when you are not hungry.

Shame really from Youngs, normally noted for their high standards which makes it all the more surprising.
