The Red Lion, Moorgate

One of my worst lunch experiences in recent times, although you don't tend to go to pubs for a non-alcoholic lunch that often, I don't drink during work hours. This pub is part of a chain so I expected the food quality to be similar to others in the same chain. The service was ok, got served almost straight away but it wasn't busy anyway. We ordered a burger and nachos. We waited 25 minutes. The burger was overcooked and dry with some very limp attempt at salad and overcooked chips. The nachos, half of them were burnt, they were barbecue flavour chips and came with a tiny dollop (about 2 tablespoons size) of mayo and the same of guacamole, along with half a tomato and red onion roughly chopped and a bit of melted cheese about 2 inches in diameter, all placed to one side on the nachos in order presumably to cover up as many of the burnt ones as possible. Nothing really approaching what you'd expect of an order of nachos. Won't be visiting the Red Lion again as there are loads of other options in the City area.
