The Winning Post, Whitton

Really grim. My wife booked a table for 12noon for father's day, so we toddled along with our two year old and got there at 11.50 (the website and the sign on the door both said open at 11.30am).
Tried to get in, shouted at "we're closed, we're closed, come back at 12."
So, back to the car, return to the pub at 12.05pm.
Staff meeting is going on, we stand by the sign that says 'please wait here to be seated.' And wait.
Get bored, so ask a barmaid, can we sit down? Yes, she says, looking surprised.
Wander over to the tables, wife stands on something squidgy - it's a buttered bread roll on the floor.
At this point we think, 'stuff it'. We went to the Pope in Twickenham instead. I'd advise anyone else to do the same.
