The Trout Inn, Bickleigh

Just had lunch there today. Wife and I had a sandwich each which was served with salad - OK, children has macarone cheese and garlic bread �4-5 each and it was obvious their food had come from a tin - I tasted it and it was really sugary - nice one heinz!

We intended to eat outside as we were tempted by the childrens play area - very limited and very tired looking as was the rest of the garden - including the benches which could have done with sanding down and a good coat of preservative, all in all outside was very rough - cars zooming past along the road, although not the fault of the pub itself do spoil the ambience - in the end we were forced inside by wasps....which wasn't much more pleasant to be honest - old uncomfortable dining furniture, though a decent high chair for the youngest, decor dated too.

Beer was OK though.

The Luppitt Inn, Luppitt

This place should be bought by the National Trust so that it never ever changes, it's a lovely pub, friendly people and great beer - well worth a visit.
