The Greatham Inn, Greatham

We have often had wonderful meals at this pub but since it changed hands we have had two dreadful meals. The quality of the meals has gone downhill - for example the steak pie was dried up and over cooked, with a shrinking thin pasty lid. The vegetables were cold and had to be reheated.

The potatoes used to be fantastic - great big chunky home made chips - but these were reheated and black in places. The previous owner was very friendly and seemed to keep a close eye on things, always checking with us that our meal was good.
However, on the first occassion there was only a girl on her own, and the second time the new owner preferred to stand at the half empty bar and never came near us in the restaurant. Depite leaving quite a lot of the meal on the plate, and commenting on the black potatoes to the waitress, no apology was forthcoming.

The pub itself seems half empty now, with few people eating. Its very disappointing, and a great loss to the area.
