The Hillside Inn, Crawley

I used to visit this pub regularly but after the performance we had on fathers day I will never be returning. It was one disaster after another. Firstly the waitress did not the lagers on sale at the bar. She then continued to bring each drink over individually without a tray and nearly knocked them evrywhere! We ordered three pints and each one came as a half. Two of our party decided to stick with the half and the other member asked for a pint. This was then bought over in a soft drinks glass the size bigger than a half and smaller than a pint. We just let it go. The food arrived and the veg was cold on all 5 dinners that we ordered. Yet again we did not say anything as it was fathers day and we didn't want to create an atmosphere!! When we asked for the bill I mentioned to the waitress that the pint glass was not an actual pint. She went away and came back with a message from the person in charge saying that we have to pay for it as it was only just shy of a pint!! The man in charge then came over with the extra lager in another glass and said you may as well have it, you've paid for it! We found this very insulting as we had already let so much go that we could have complained about. It was absolutley disgusting service from start to finish!!!
