The Bakers Arms, Poole

Ate here recently - ordered Gammon steaks with 2 eggs on top - recieved meal - the eggs were RAW - the whits of the eggs were "snotty" - I had to send the meal back. Please see my review of their sister pub - THE LAMBS GREEN INN in corfe mullen. I had exactly the same results - rubbish chef if you can call him that!

Nice refubishment - shame about the cooking standards.

The Lambs Green Inn, Wimborne

We went there one Sunday afternoon lastweek - 09/06/07 - upon sitting outside the table had not been cleared - I had to ask someone to come out to clear the table - the pub was in no way busy it was around 4.30pm. We chose our food and purchased drinks. My wife ordered a vegetable lasagne, I ordered the gammon steak. The gammon steak came out to me with 2 eggs placed on top - they were raw - as in the whites of the eggs were raw - and "snotty" - I asked for the eggs to be "sealed under the grill", which was done but when they were brought out again, one of them was still raw - the other was hard boiled - I was asked if it was all OK and in true English style we both said yes - but to just look at the eggs anyone could tell they were not right - I do not agree with spending a premium amount of money to have someone cook you food who cannot even fry an egg. The bottom of the eggs were also crusty and crispy - obviously the oil was too hot - if you cannot fry and egg then you should not be working in a restaurant or pub. Also the chips were floppy and thin and there was a large amount of water on the plate from the gammon steak - I had to place a tissue on the plate to soak up the juices/wate. All in all pretty disgusting - I do not recommend this place to any one - based on this meal, they cannot complain it was busy as it was not. They have just bought a sister pub called the Bakers arms in Lytchet - I have eaten there and the eggs were the same - RAW.
