what a smashing old style pub, been there loads of times and is my favorite eating hole.

dave the chef is great and creates top class food from scratch no microwave rubbish here.
his fish dishes are our favoite and my wife loves the sea food pasta.

the beer is kept to a very good standard and is of a good price.

the rest of the staff including the landlady are all very friendly and have time for the punters.

i personaly dont agree at all to the comments above but every one has there own opinon.

to sum it up its resturant quality food at pub prices with pub portions.( none of this posh rubbish which leaves you trying to find the chippy afterwards and after parting with a huge wad of dosh).

this is my favorite pub but coming in a close second is the fat cat at spring road which is like going into a mini beer festival.
