The Mansion, Gipsy Hill

After a couple of good but unremarkable visits last year, the Mansion seems to have experienced something of a renaissance in 2007! I have had dinner here on twice in the past month - on a busy Saturday night and on a quiet early weekday evening - best pub meals I can remember for a while!

Service - 9/10

Exceptional - charming, patient and attentive, impressive for a pub

Food

Venison Sausages - highly recommended !! excellent 9/10
Thai Green Curry - bit lack lustre 6/10
Risotto - good - 7/10

Drinks

Good selection - no Cider on tap, but do stock Weston's cider!

While the decor doesn't appeal to my preference for 'spit and sawdust', but the Missus is a big fan.

Overall - one of the best pubs in the area - up there with the Black Sheep - wins if you want food and garden!!
