Glass House Inn, May Hill
Having recently moved to the area from Berkshire and driven past this pub which looked so nice my husband and i thought we would take the children there for lunch on the August Bank Holiday weekend. We were stunned to see the signs outside saying NO CHILDREN ALLOWED UNDER 14YRS - as this would be our local and we do like to eat out as a family my husband thought he would go in and ask if
that sign was for real - he was told indeed it was and children are only allowed to sit in the garden. I can totally understand screaming babies being a problem or parents that allow their children to run around but our children are well behaved and enjoy socializing so much that we have dined at some of the worlds finest restaurants where well behaved children are most welcome - are children aged 14yrs and over so more angelic ? The landlord has lost regular business from a local family and all their visiting friends, and as the car park was empty they should really reconsider this archaic policy...
