The Butt of Sherry, Mere

Highly recommended. Stopped here with wife and kids travelling back from Devon.

The food surpassed all expectations. Fresh, delicious food, beautifully presented, great value. Burgers were freshly home-made in organic homemade bread rolls. Fish and chips was some of the best I've had - skate in beer batter with jenga chips, home-mushed peas and homemade tartar sauce - excellent.

Lady behind the bar made us really welcome and the place felt like a real pub - locals seemed a pleasant bunch.

Couple of real ales included Harveys. We all ate well with drinks for a bill of about �30 - would have cost a load more elsewhere. Wish we could have stayed on for the night!
