The Foresters Arms, Bagshot

I have visited this pub on a number of occasions over the last 14 months.. It is with out doubt one of the most depressing pubs I have ever seen. It is not friendly. it is not welcoming the only reason curry nights are done is to pull in business on quite nights (which is almost always) and hope you spend a lot more than the cost of the the curry ingredients. Recently I went in for a pint at 7pm Saturday a few regulars were in when he (Adrian the manager) could just about be bothered to serve me, I asked if they could do cash back he said the machine won't let me!! Now I know we live in a world of autonomy but he has a machine that can tell if he is giving cash back? (lol I only wanted £10 for a few drinks)! so I said well I have only got a debit card he said well in that case we will charge you .50p surcharge now I did get a little upset by this 15.25% charge for using a debit card?? Now funny thing Adrian's business partner who has run the bar on a couple of occasions when Adrian is away has been a really friendly decent guy..Even though the pub has always been quiet when I have visited (on different nights even during the Olympics )he did make you feel welcome. That 15.25% will be very expensive because I will never visit the place again whilst under the control of this manager. Hungry Horse Great pub and service with a smile. Three Mariners again great pub. The White Heart a good pub make you feel welcome.
