The North Pole, North Kensington

This pub used to be quite nice 2 years ago when we started to come after climbing. But this year it really has lost it. The place is drab, they never have any ales in (the pumps are always empty), and now they have very strong lights on all the time! The football is always on, and I have nothing against football in pubs but it only attracts 3-5 grubby looking types who never actually order anything.

What happened to this place? It wasn't the greatest pub before, but it felt alright. Now it feels like it's perpetually about to close down. I say avoid this place at all costs. Try the greek place down latimer road for a nice pint and good conversation with the wacky owner.

The Station, North Kensington

Too loud and full of football in winter, and expensive. But a nice beer garden in summer. Used to be better before they put all that wooden rubbish in there. Seems to have a lot of potential but stupid ideas of the landlord make it quite variable - like the quiz night that you couldn't go to unless you booked ahead. You could only sit in the garden until the 10-20 people in the bar had finished the quiz!
