The Rising Sun, Reading

Brakspear special the only real beer on when i visited, kept too cold. Quite a dingy place with lots of very sad people trying to hang on to their rebellious teen angst. Set up for the bands seems to be quite good, decent sort of volume for the size. Sound engineer (if there was one) seemed to focus too heavily on the vocals...but that would be my only quibble.

Basically, i hated the place - but may well try and get a gig there in the future.

The Salisbury, Harringay

Spacious and pleasant interior. Nice place for an afternoon drink or two (no more or you'll end up living on the streets at these prices). Fullers pub with remarkably well kept beers (better than any other fullers pub i have been in). Overall not bad at all, though not the sort of place i would really want to visit on a busy evening.

I would weep were the oakdale to be closed down. It must not happen.
