The Tiger Inn, Knaresborough

This pub thinks it is better than they actually are! We were staying in York and meeting friends form Harrogte so thought we would meet half way and the Tiger was the half way point. We didnt book as it was mid week. When we arrived it was fairly quiet but it soon starting getting a few tables in. We ordered and waited 20 mintes before we had to remind the waitress that we still hadnt received our drinks even though there was only about 4 tables in! The food arrived pretty promptly after that. The pie had soggy pastry and the chips were overcooked and soggy. Overall a very soggy mushy mess! My fella's meal was satisfactory but bulked out with mash which was really quite bland. What we can say is the portion sizes are big but only bulked out with the cheaper ingredients! I would have much rather had much smaller portions with much better quality! Within seconds of us finishing our meal the pates we whisked away and we were asked if we wanted a pudding. To which we didnt. We were contimplating a coffee but before we had chance to order the bill landed on the table and we were eyeballed to pay. They ovbiously wanted to turn the table, even though there was no one waiting.....
If you want fast food come here, they want your money then they want you out!
