Liberty Bell, Romford

Whilst out shopping I decided to take a break and grab some lunch. I had not been in the liberty bell before so decided to give it a try. All i can say is..... I definately will not be booking my family boxing day meal there. The food was disgusting!!!! Although it arrived in a timely fashion it was over cooked and far to greasy. The starter (a shared platter) could have been from icelands frozen section, bland and tastless. I had the duck with some sort of lemon sauce, slimy skin, not much meat and rubbery texture. very dry new potatoes and bullets in place of peas. My husband had the minute steak, it looked like it had been cremated. It seemed to get tougher by the forkful, he even joked that he needed a jack hammer to cut through it. Needless to say most of it was left uneaten. The chips tasted like re-fried left overs. My son ate one forkful of his chicken and ribs and left the rest untouched, commenting that it was inedible. The condiments were cheap and nasty. One saving grace was that the staff were polite and friendly. I just wanted to leave there as quick as possible, which is why we did not kick up a fuss at the time.
