Have eaten here a couple of times on Thursday nights in winter 2008 because it's a friend's "local." Basic cheap food and drinks. Hard to find a burger, chips and an ale for five pounds in London. Definitely lacking in pub atmosphere if you go for dark wood, mirrors and close quarters. More the feel of a restaurant that happens to serve ales than a pub that happens to serve food. Large screen tvs draw crowds for sporting events.

My "local" when visiting London. Excellent food though a bit pricey (not the usual pub grub) so it's more a nice lunch or special dinner destination than a regular eatery. Attentive staff always courteous and cheerful but maybe that's because I'm an old American geezer and they know I always leave a nice tip. Garden area out back is nice during warmer months.
