Though located on a main road, this attractive pub has a lovely garden and small terrace which is very nice on a summers day. Friendly attentive staff particularly if you plan to dine. Menu short but interesting-- can thorougly recommend the salmon & Prawn fishcakes which are available as starter or main meal. Visited twice recently at lunch time -- almost empty first time but second time round carpark filled up rapidly within an hour. Seems popular place for ladies to meet up with friends for lunch and a chinwag-- though not quite a yummy mummies hangout.

Having heard a lot of good things about this pub particularly its l;ocation, i let my son take me & the missus there for Father's Day on Sunday. Even at 1pm the street was rammed and the bbq area quite full. It was a really hot day but a jug of Pimms, seats right by the river and very good chicken & beef fresh from the barbie went down a treat. Clientele mixed but friendly and all in all, an excellent place particularly when the sun goes down and they put on the fairy lights. Definitely recommended.
Top tip: Parking is free in Smugglers Way round the corner after 7pm every day and there is also a pricey but secure car park opposite the Holiday Inn in the same road. Residents are obviously well heeled judging by the number of Mercs, Porsches & Beemers in the car park-- also an e-type Jag. But your car will be safe and theres even an on- site car wash.
