The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

This used to be a pub and now doesnt really know what it is. Bar now made over and like leatherette lobby of a motel: much of the character has been sucked out of the place. Best to sit in the garden on a sunny day! Beer was OK the other night. Struck off my list of interesting locals worth the occasional visit for a pint.

The Grantley Arms, Wonersh

Always an interesting and varied selection of well-kept real ales. Much appreciated as a traditional pub which has not yet succumbed to the 'leatherette' makeover treatment. Good food and a couple of outdoor seating areas in the summer. Real fires in cast-iron stoves in bleak midwinter. Recommended!

The Queen Victoria, Shalford

Slight adjustment of ownership, anyway. Still remains a friendly, traditional local. Beer well kept - Shere Drop has been in fine form in recent weeks. Good value basic menu at luchtimes.
