The Green Man, Fitzrovia

I accidentally left a rating for the wrong pub, this is definitely the one I meant.
It's been refurbished, and it's so much better. it now has decent barstaff, nice food (if a little bit more pricey), wooden floors, pale walls, a jukebox upstairs, newly painted toilets with proper locks on the doors, and decent beer. The telly and pool tables are gone (shame, as places to play pool in this part of the world are scarce), but generally it's a huge improvement. It's a bit of a kick in the eye for the more traditional boozer, but the King's Arms across the road is much better for that anyway.
Oh, and it no longer smells of wee.

The Green Man, Great Portland Street

This pub has just been refurbished - what a revelation.
It now has decent barstaff, nice food (if a little bit more pricey), wooden floors, pale walls, a jukebox upstairs, newly painted toilets with proper locks on the doors, and decent beer. The telly and the pool tables are gone (which is a shame as there are very few places to play pool in this neck of the woods), but, generally this pub is much improved. Much as I am a champion of the old-fashioned boozer (the King's Arms virtually next door is great), when it's done badly, there's no point.
Oh, and it no longer smells of wee.
