The Long Room, Queens Park

Hi All,

Against my better judgement, I went to the LOng Room again ('cos a friend wanted to as it was local).
It was waaay too dark...some Desert Storm night vision glases would have been very handy!
The worst thing was the service, and Im talking here as someone who's been going to this establishment for over 6 years (Montorse then Long room), and as a past DJ.
I went the bar when an oriental barmaid was serving already, but otherwise the bar was empty. People turned up, and served them before me: By the time she got to me it was 8 mins later...for an empty bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I retorted to this, politely pointing out that I had waited 8 mons, she bacame arrogant and sarcastic!
From now I will avoid this place like the plague, but especially for New Years night out. Fot 15 quid to get in, its gonna be an hour's wait....thoroughly UNreccomended...EVER!

The Long Room, Queens Park

Hi All,
Ive been to this joint lately and in short its gone downhill further, if thats possible. The DJ's arent great, neither is the music, after all 'funky house' may be 'trendy' but it aint everyones cup o' tea...there was a good dj there a while back, every friday (Nik I think he was called) and he was the only good one there EVER in my, and my mates opinions as he played a wicked variety. Bring Him back pleeeae!
Anyway besides the 'same same same' music, the service is exceptionally poor, with long waits (yes, still)and a few rude staff....the manager always looks angry, I can only blame the owners for not geting the right people in to manage the place. Some nights, they also call last orders 10 mins early and that aint on. Despite all this, my main issue is that still it tries to be more than it is...simply a bar that serves grub...and even thats over-priced. Not reccommemded, and I wont be there again.
