The Rambler Country House, Edale

As keen walkers we walk in Edale a lot. We always eat and drink in the old nags head and have never had problems until now. I don�t know if they have new management or chefs but we were disappointed on this visit. After being in the pub for two hours, having a well earned drink we went to the bar to order food .We were advised by a barman food was finished when we asked why the food was finished we were told that they were too busy and stopped serving early.
We then decided to try the other pub at the bottom of the village, The Rambler country house which we had always walked past because it didn�t look very welcoming. I have to say that the food and service was very excellent. We went inside and it was very busy. We just managed to get a table as we were standing next to a table of 4 people who were just leaving.
We went to the bar and ordered. The food was very good and arrived within 15 minutes. The staff was very friendly. I must say I will be giving the old nags head a miss in the future and going to the Rambler country house instead.
