The Crown and Cushion, Blackwater

Sadly, the landlady (petite blond lady with specs and a husky voice?) must have been having a bad day today. I came with two business colleagues for lunch; firstly she kept us waiting at the bar for a good five minutes before she served us. She was very 'offish', sternly telling us we had to have our table number before ordering (fair enough), and making no attempt to be 'mine host' whist we ordered. The food came quickly and was nice, delivered by another much more cheerful gentleman. When I came to pay she was very put out and humourless that I got my table number wrong; I tried to help by reminding her waht I had ordered but she snapped 'everyone ordered that today'. When I politeley asked why she was so 'cold' she put it back on me and said 'Are you having a bad day?.' What a shame - I shant be going back, and I will be telling all my contacts at the nearby SUN offices about her cold welcome. Her Loss.
