The Trout and Tipple, Tavistock

My wife and two children visited tonight and found a very warm welcome, good beer and good food. There was a choice of 4 real ales (2 local Princetown Jail Ale and St Austell Legend, and two Bristol guest ales GW Beesknees and Wickwar BOB), all kept well and reasonably priced. The children were very welcome (and in fact two other families turned up while we were there so it is very child friendly). There is a good, reasonably priced menu board, with separate menu for the kids. There is a snug main bar with lots of inglenooks and beams, a larger dining area and a games room upstairs with pool and darts. The new owners are very friendly and accommodating. They even serve takeaway beer for a small deposit of a flaggon. Well worth the short walk or drive out of town for.
