Rose Inn, Great Wakering

Me and my husband went to the rose inn on friday night as we had heard about the new head chef they have , we have been to a restaurant he had worked before and had enjoyed it . When we arrived the restaurant was quite full and we were seated by a waitress who was very polite , when we were given the menu were surprised to see it was a gastro pub type menu with quite a large selection but we were evan more surprised when a chalk board was brought to the table with all of the specials they had this was a nice touch , i chose lemon butter baked salmon with a butter bean rissotto and john chose a belly pork dish (cant remember what it was with) . The food arrived in around 25 mins which we felt was ok for a busy friday night . the food was exellent and good value , later when we spoke to the landlord at the bar (who was quite a character just what every country pub needs ) he said things had changed and was now going for more a restaurant feel and with a new floor manager was happy with the way things were going . the feel and the decoration was nice and a great evening was had we would diffently go back oh and cant comment on the ales as we both dont drink them but selection of wines was great
