The Moon on the Square, Feltham
My lady and I had a nasty experience at the Moon on the Square in Feltham today. Its a scruffy pub in a rough part of West London it was full of old guys and a few women to match. Anyway we wanted breakfast and it was that or Asda. We found a sticky table near the window. ALL the tables are sticky at this place. They never clean them or collect the used glasses. My lady sat down and we looked at the menu. I took her order and went to the bar were I waited and waited and waited whilst all the obvious regulars were served first. Eventually the barman an Aussie in his 30s with a face sparkling with shiny metal piercings (says it all really) said what table was I at? I said i didnt know, but it was the one over there (pointing to the table where my lady was sitting). He said he needed the table number. I said didnt he know it? He said he wasnt going to take my order unless I went back to the table and told him what the number was. I asked him why he didnt know it. [In similar establishments even in Wetherspoon pubs we have always received help from staff who actually know the layout of their table numbers]. However this ar$ehole was quite adamant that I was going to have to go back to the table to get the number. He said go back and get the bl**dy table number or you wont get served. Meanwhile he started serving the regulars again. Now no-one talks to me like that so I said i wanted to see the manager. He said he was the manager. I said that with an attitude like that and using such bad language to customers in front of elderly ladies too that I was surprised he was a manager. He then told me to get out I was not getting served. He was the most unpleasant and aggressive manager I have had to deal with for years. The facial piercings were an obvious warning sign. But Ive also had that attitude from Aussies towards Brits when Ive been in Sydney etc. So he was obviously reverting to type. Never again.
