The Nell Gwynne, Covent Garden

My wife and I used to frequently visit this pub when we were in town with it's prefect location tucked away on the Strand and it's friendly bar staff always making it an enjoyable experience. However my last visit wasn't nearly as pleasant I was in on Saturday for a quick drink with my wife before going to see a show and we were shocked and appalled by the way the manager (I assume) was shouting at one of his staff behind the bar. From what we heard it sounded like an airing of dirty laundry rather than anything to do with the pub. Regardless of the issue it was iannpappropriate to use such an aggressive tone and such vile language. Needless to say the bar maid walked out after his tirade (good on her.) We left shortly after as we felt so uncomfortable as did many otehr customers. It is unacceptable for a manager to treat his staff with such little respect in any environment, especially in front of paying customers. We will not be returning anytime soon.
