Sun Inn, Bassenthwaite

I can't express how disappointed I am with this pub since it has been taken over by the new couple this year. I have been visiting it for some 5 years and have always received a very warm welcome in the past and my dog has always been greeted with open arms. However I walked in one Friday evening and the landlady was more concerned about telling one of the bar staff about how many diners they had had that evening before serving me. I finally got my pint and stood with the dog at my side whilst I checked my phone for any messages. The landlord rushed across to me and said " Can't you read ? This is a mobile free zone? I suggest you go outside". I apologised because I had't realised that they has introduced this so turned off my phone. The landlady then came across and suggested I go and sit in the pool room with my dog which I did. Then the landlord came back to me whilst I was sitting in the pool room minding my own business and stated that if my dog continued to lie there on the floor it would get trampled on. At this I left my pint and vacated the pub. The following evening some relatives fancied having a meal in there and although I was reluctant agreed. The landlady told me that we could only have our meals outside as they were full inside. I agreed to this but when I went to order the meals I was told "And don't think you are having a tab" At this we left the pub. It is such a shame that this arrogant couple think that they have the right to treat their customers with such rudeness especially when the pub has so much going for it. Obviously they won't be concerned because they know that regardless of how they speak to people they will always sell meals.
