The Ramblers Rest, Chipstead

I'm a smoker, so only go here when it's OK to sit outside. However, agree with a previous comment about the noise of the kitchen extractors, which is almost too much to bear, though you do get used to it after a time.

Good menu, good food, but overpriced. Like the fact it majors on locally grown or British produce. Could do with larger selection of real ales.

Rubbing House, Epsom Downs

Prefer to eat outside so great when the weather's fine, though can get a little windy at times. Good food but would like to see a larger selection of real ales.

Bar staff friendly, waiting staff socially inept, and am still waiting for Landlord to smile or say hello - but hey, you can't have everything!
