The Lion Hotel, Farningham
We visited the Lion on a busy Saturday lunchtime, we hadn't booked but they still found us a table. Choice of at least 3 ales, Doombar etc. beer well kept. Chicken liver pate starter very good, tasted homemade. Haddock and chips also good, batter nicely cooked and a good sized portion for 7.99. A friendly and efficient waitress served us quickly. As mentioned in other posts the outside location is very attractive though a little spoilt by traffic noise from the distant motorway. The dining area inside was clean, comfortable and had the usual traditional English pub/hotel look and atmosphere. What else would you expect - a nightclub ? Hard for me to recognise this pub as described in some of the previous reviews though of course pubs do change. MellyB's party ate all their food then didn't have to pay for it - sounds like they didn't do too badly - and loupo, having apparently bungled her ordering, then tried to get ahead by bossing the waitress (she's serving staff, not your feudal serf). Perhaps people with "five young children" should take them to MacDonalds instead and do us all a favour.
