The Garibaldi, Redhill

Had a great Saturday night here this weekend. Despite not being a local we were welcomed by staff and regulars alike, live music was great (don't know how reguar this is) and the atmosphere was superb.

The Bell Inn, Hampton

Had the pleasure of having a meal here not too long ago. Food was fantastic and the wine, a very pleasant Sancerre, was equally delicious.

Staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely go back.

The Plough, Leigh

Terrible food. So bad I registered with the site simply to warn others. Went with friends, brought out wrong meal for my other half, and when pointed out to waitress she came back with exactly the same dish but a different sauce! Friends' roast dinners were rubbery, my pie was tasty but stone cold. Topped off with a miserly saucer of overcooked veg which was apparently for all 4 of us and gravy that was so salty as to be literally painful to eat. Pointed out the saltiness of the gravy to the staff, got no apology, only a lame agreement that she'd tried it earlier and thought exactly the same! Went to Tesco for dessert. The pleasant beer gets it its one and only point.
