The Geese Have Gone Over The Water, Brighton

An OK pub, used to be much better but frankly gone a bit girly of late. Lots of students from the accommodation over the road come here for a couple before town.

Quick history lesson: the reason why it is called The Geese Have Gone Over The Water is because of the pub's Irish roots: the Wild Geese were the Irish army who fought William of Orange in the 17th Century. They were given the option of exile to France or executiion, and they fled 'over the water'.

Needless to say, does very good Guinness.
