The Pheasant changed hands 18 months back, (maybe a bit more), so would ignore 2008 and earlier posts.
Does an excellent Thai, eat in or take away. English menu also available.
Still serves a good pint of the local Stanway beer.
Also does a breakfast menu.
Good value and friendly service.

The Snowshill Arms, Snowshill
A lot of the reviews here are old, but they are still valid.
Good proper "pub grub", including good steaks at sensible prices, but not a gastro pub.
Beer well kept.
Friendly service.
Great views and large garden with childrens play fort.
Has a skittle alley if you want a party.
