The White Horse, Lindfield

I believe that this pub has a new owner and my my, how it has changed, and for the worse I am afraid. I re-visited with my husband and our young son during February 2010. The bar staff had a bad attitude and made us feel quite uncomfortable. My wine glass was dirty and my husband said that his beer tasted 'off' but the bar lady (owner?) was actually quite rude to us and pretty much told us that we were liars without bothering to check. To be quite honest we felt very uncomfortable throughout our time here, we intended to try the food but after our initial experience we decided not to risk it. The location of this pub is lovely.. opposite The Pond in Lindfield, it has great potential but I get the impession that this pub has turned 'rough' again and we cannot recommend it to anyone. Lindfield has lots of other nice pubs, this one would be at the bottom of my list!

The White Horse, Lindfield

The new owners have only been in for about a month, but my friends and I have rapidly grown to love this place! The pub and Thai restaurant seem to complement each other nicely, without the one intruding too much on the other. The atmosphere is very laid back and pleasant, the bar and restaurant staff are friendly and welcoming, and the wines and beer and ales (so I�m told) are good. The restaurant section serves authentic Thai food cooked by Thai chefs and served by sweet and polite young ladies in Thai dress. Bowls of free spicy prawn crackers and other tasty treats are frequently placed around the bar area. Nice but cunning.. we have found ourselves wanting more and wandering home with a takeaway on more than one occasion! We�re all very impressed - this place is a much-needed new addition to Lindfield..
