The Royal Standard of England, Beaconsfield

I went to this pub at Christmas and found it disgusting, unclean amongst other things I found ont eh floor. The staff were unbothered, and the food was terrible. you would have to pay me to return!!!!

The Jolly Cricketers, Seer Green

What can I say!!! I popped into the pub on Monday lunchtime as I saw the balloons and knew it had re opened. What a change. The pub looked clean, the floors are divine, nothing like light, real wood flooring. The new owners have opened up the place using windows , and it is no longer dark and dingy. there are brand new toilets (with hot water, hand soap, paper towels and loo roll!) which are a god send to say the least.

The wine selction has been carfeully chosen, and there is a large selction for all tastes. I love the idea of the 'drink of the village' of Cava with cherry liquor. I sampeled one of these and it was delicious. One thing I also liked wa the fact they had a variety of spirits, I as a gin drinker could not beleive the selction, Gordons, Bombay and Hendricks all under one roof, all reasonably priced.

The new landlady and landlord have clearly worked very hard at restoring the pub, and have made a fantastic job of it. I for one can not wait for the food to start in the next couple of weeks, as I have heard the new chef is very talented (and local!)

The staff were friendly, helpful and for once they wanted to serve you, rather than talking to thier friends. The new uniforms are good too, as you know who to ask if you have any queries or wanted any other information.

Seer Green has long waited for a local pub of this standard, and I hope before long it is back to being the hub of the village!!!

Well Done to whomever has taken the time out to refurbish this pub to the standard it is now, and make it back to the gem it once was....
