The Partridge Inn, Singleton

Have had some fairly good meals here in the past but was very disappointed today. Were sat at a wobbly table and had a wobbly chair, right by an open door (in November) which we had to keep getting up to close. Waited approx. half an hour for food order to be taken. Garlic mushrooms were chewy and one of our party burnt their fingers on plates that were scalding hot - no warning given. Some of us were asked to re-order our main courses as it had run out (OK - this happens. Both the Scampi and crab cakes arrived the colour of conkers (very overdone) and chips were hard. Boiled potatoes were dry. Ordered a coffee with whipped cream for afters, but it arrived with no whipped cream. When we asked if we could have some were told (very sullenly) that they had run out. Shame - nice building - poor service - appalling food.
